Tone & Niche (tone & neesh), an original pop/rock band based out of Michigan, consists of singer/songwriter Anthony Retka, violinist Nicole Varga, bass guitarist / keyboardist James Sterling Lees, bass guitarist Nick White, and drummer Roger Dutcher.

Tone & Niche’s eclectic mix of violin-led pop/rock and singer/songwriter styles have become a driving force in the Detroit music scene. The band has shared the bill with several national recording artists including: Martha Wainwright, Mike Errico, Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers, and many more.

Tone & Niche has released four studio albums, a live double CD, two singles and three EPs as well as a 2013 compilation release featuring some of their singles and obscure music. These recordings emit a mysterious brilliance of creative song structure, lyrical depth and polished performance.

In addition to everything else, T&N’s song So Long, from the 2007 record Rust, was recently featured on the Discovery Channel’s Dr. G: Medical Examiner.

T&N remains on hiatus, but their front man and singer-songwriter, Anthony Retka, continues to perform as a solo artist – writing, releasing music, and playing shows.
